Buffington Effects is developing a line of animatronic, theatrical, and motion control products. Here are the products that are currently released or are in development. We also build custom controllers and software to meet the needs of individual projects. Click on a picture for more information.

Servo Animator 1.2.0 - Available Now
		Servo Animator is an animation package for animatronics. It allows you to animate hobby servo-driven animatronics with smooth, life-like movements.

CD2Serial unit - Available Now
		Play your Servo Animator animations without the need for a computer. A CD player and the CD2Serial unit are all that is needed to play back your Servo Animator animations on your animatronic.

Hobby Servo and Digital Controller - Available Now
		The Buffington Effects Hobby Servo and Digital Controller has been designed with animatronics in mind. Multiple units can be used in conjunction to control up to 380 movements in real time. It can also be configured to give you eight on/off outputs.

Blinky Light Controller - Available now
		The Buffington Effects Blinky Light Controller will allow you to make your props appear like they are actually functional by having ten different light sequences such as five types of random sequences, a marquee sequence, a sweep like a Cylon or Knight Rider, and more.

Tracker LED - Available Now
		The Buffington Effects Tracker LED is a little device that will allow visual effects crews to create tracking points that are highly visible yet are small in size so that less work will be needed to paint them out in post.

Servo Animator 2.0.0 - In Development
		Servo Animator 2.0.0 will be a complete rewrite of Servo Animator. It will be targeted at professional level productions and will be able to control all of the devices listed above.

32+8 Motion Capture Device - In Beta Testing
		The Buffington Effects 32+8 Motion Capture Device can be used with the Buffington Effects RC Hobby Servo and Digital controller to control up to 32 servos and eight digital outputs without the need for a computer or can be used as an input device for Servo Animator 2.0.

Sound Module - In Development
		The Buffington Effects Sound Module will allow you to play sounds on cue. It will be able to be controlled by Servo Animator 2.0 using the Buffington Effects data format or any program that can send Mini SSC compatible data. You will be able to store up to eight minutes of audio in this board which can be played in its entirety or broken up into as many as 254 clips.

DC Servo Motor Controller - In Development
		The Buffington Effects DC Servo Motor Controller will allow you to control DC servo motors proportionally or positionally.

Stepper Motor Controller - In Development
		The Buffington Effects Stepper Motor Controller will allow you to control stepper motors proportionally or positionally.

Large Load Controller Planned
		The Buffington Effects Large Load Controller can control AC loads of up to 10 amps. This is ideal for motors or lights.

Pyrotechnic Controller - Planned
		The Buffington Effects Pyrotechnics Controller will be able to safely control up to eight pyrotechnic devices.

Robot Sumo kit - In Development
		This kit is a fun project for either the beginner in robotics or the advanced learner who is looking for a platform to learn about the Microchip PIC series of processors.
